I have a 2001 sl2 dohc that has been overheated MANY times due to sensor failure, two fan motor failures,
radiator crack, and operator stupidity while the above mentioned were occuring. The motor is still running very well for what its been thru with over 200k miles on it. If I had it to due over again I would have bought a couple of these when the price was right. WHY DID THEY GM STOP WHEN THEY WERE ON TO SOMETHING SO GOOD???

The last owner drove it into a large puddle and snapped the timing chain and blew the head gasket. They had it repaired. The car is leaking oil from the head gasket or timing chain cover on the left hand side behind the a/c bracket. Theirs a protruding flat spot where the head, timing chain cover, and block come together thats where the oil is coming out from. I've tried backing out the head bolts and retorqing them to spec's. That seemed to help slow the leak, but not stopped it.
