Kia Rio Used Engines

I’ve been observing price trends nationally, and Kia Rio engines are on the rise. As a company, we’ve sold many Kia Rio engines with excellent results for our customers. I’ve sold several of these engines lately, and I’m proud to say that we’re not raising our price on these engines, even though nationally it’s not uncommon for these engines to sell for $2100.00 (we sell ours for less than that – call for price).

Many customers are in shock when they price these engines; they don’t understand why the price is so high. Well, the fact of the matter is these vehicles are not as “worthless” as many folks assume. They get excellent gas mileage, and used vehicles in general have gone up sharply in price as sales on new vehicles have plummeted. The vehicles are also very reliable when maintained on Kia’s maintenance schedule. Finally, and here’s the kicker – Rio/Cinco engines are under incredibly high demand. Most customers needing one of these engines have had their timing belts break, and as these vehicles use an interference engine, there is no practical option other than getting another engine.

The good news is that we’re not raising our price on these engines. We work hard to buy these engines right so we can sell them right.

Our Warranty on Used Engines is Unmatched!

When we started Low Mileage Engines, we had a saying we threw around the office – we wanted to do “Business by the Golden Rule.”

For seven years, that’s what we’ve done. We started out by giving customers 30 day warranties. As this was (and in fact still is) the industry standard, our customers were pleased. Since we ship excellent products, we soon decided to step out on a limb and offer a 199 day part warranty. At the time, we were a very small company, and offering such a good warranty was intimidating. You see, unlike some companies, we stand behind our warranty. When we rolled out our standard 1 year warranty with an option 3 year, unlimited mile warranty, we shocked the industry. Not only does our warranty surpass that of other used engine suppliers, it rivals the warranty of a remanufactured engine.

When you purchase an engine from us, you have assurance that as long as you follow our installation guidelines and keep the simple documentation we require, the longblock and its internal lubricated parts are under warranty for a year!

Some of our competitors try to get around the warranty issue by either simply not talking about the warranty, or by not putting anything in writing. For example, one of our largest competitors says in their warranty only that “customers deserve a warranty.” We agree. That’s why our warranty is clearly stated in writing and documented on the invoice that you receive. We joined the Better Business Bureau to express our commitment to excellence – both warranty wise, and customer service wise. No ambiguity, no weaseling. Just engines with CARFAX mileage verification, the best written warranty available, and a commitment to excellence.

Should I Use My Original Sensors When I Swap an Engine?

While used engines come with sensors on them, you should always swap the sensors from your original engine – unless you know them to be bad. This is stadard industry practice, and should be done when the engine is out. Most mechanics will have the old engine and the new engine side by side, each on an engine stand. The reasoning behind this is straight forward – sensors can go bad on the shelf or can get damaged during the removal process or shipping process, or can be designed to work with a computer different from the one in your vehicle. Only as a last resort should you use a sensor that comes with your engine replacement.

Can You Ship an Engine Directly to Me?

Low Mileage Engines has the capability to ship used engines directly to customers anywhere in the 48 continental United States. We can also ship into Canada, though it is often easier for our customers when we ship to a border city in the US for them to pick up in.

For international customers, we offer shipping directly to your freight forwarder. Due to the varying packaging and preperation requirements of different customers, your freight forwarder will need to do final crating and packaging. We’ve had customers in Peru, Brazil, Australia, Saudi Arabia, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, and even Italy – as well as Canada and Mexico. We can also ship to Hawaii, and have shipped to Guam as well.

For US shipments,  the common carriers we use are R&L Carriers, SAIA, and Con-Way.  All of the companies we use have excellent tracking systems that you can use either over the internet or by phone, so you can always know where your engine is.

As always, if you need an engine, please call us at 901-266-9996, or visit our web site – www.lowmileageengines.com.

Savings on Lexus Engines – Used Engines vs. Remanufactured Engines

Today, we quoted a customer today on an engine for a 1996 Lexus LS400. The price on a remanufactured engine from of the nation’s leading suppliers was $6815.00. I was able to quote them on a 35,000 mile unit delivered for 23% of the cost of a good quality remanufactured unit.

Unlike a remanufactured engine, this used motor has all OEM parts. It didn’t have to be resleeved, it didn’t have to be brought back from 200,000 mile wear – everything was original. In my mind, that is ideal. Low Mileage Used engines have been road tested (factoid: not every remanufactured engine sold makes it onto the road. Remans can be a great option, but they are not the second coming some folks offer.) and were running before taken off the road. Many of the best mechanics with their customers best interests at heart will prefer a low mileage engine not only because of the cost savings, but because, depending on the mileage, they can be a better product!

If you do need a used engine, please contact us! You can fill out an engine request form, or contact us directly at 901.266.9996. How often should I change my air filter?

More engines wear out from dirty air filters than from dirty oil filters. That’s a fact. If you’re not keeping your filter cleaned (if you have a reusable filter) or changed (if you used throw aways), particles can slip past, through your intake, and into your engine. Granules of sand, for example, don’t do your engine any favors rubbing against the cylinder wall.

Dirty air filters also reduce fuel efficiency, thus costing you money on gas.

To cut to the chase, you should always read your owner’s manual to determine air filter maintenance times, but a general rule of thumb is every year or 12,000 miles. If you’re on a dirt road, I would check it every 3 months MAXIMUM. Personally, when I drive on gravel or dirt, I check it every month.

If you’ve worn out your engine and need a replacement, please, contact Low Mileage Engines. We’re fully accredited by the Better Business Bureau and have thousands of satisfied customers. For quality used engines, please call us at 901-266-9996. From GM engines, to Toyota engines to Saab engines, we can help you. Unlike many of our competitors, we do not misrepresent mileage. Our word to you is that we will never lie to get your business.
